(More customer reviews)I'm an independent filmmaker and wanted to play around with wireless without spending a fortune. I have to say, I'm very impressed with the quality of sound from this little bugger. I can't say how it compares to the $500+ rigs because I won't pay that much if I don't have to. But this rig does the job. I hooked the receiver up to my camera's mic input port (using a mini-plug step-down adapter -- the cord uses the larger size) and it'll send a signal through a wall with no distortion. One thing: you have to plug in the receiver to an outlet, so if you want to do dolly shots or hand held camera moves, it could be a little tricky. But since it runs on DC, I'm looking into rigging it up to a battery pack so I can be more mobile. The microphone is super sensitive, and the little foam cap needs to be held on with a rubber band if you plan to hide it beneath an actor's clothing. Other than that, this is a solid unit at a great price. I'd definitely buy another product from Gemini.

(More customer reviews)I purchases an Audio Technica ATW-251 Freeway VHF Headworn Wireless System, Channel 8 from New Vista Sales.Unfortunately, the package arrived with a missing part.I contacted them, they asked me to return the goods and a new package would be issued BUT - I had organised the package to be sent to an address in the USA as I live in St Lucia, Caribbean, and they would bring it here for me.Consequently, I requested to keep the parts already received and asked if they could forward the missing part to the same USA address.No reply from them after 5 emails.If you can do anything for me I would be grateful.My friend goes to USA on Thursday 1st May for one week only. Could the part be sent to the original address in that time.PLEASE help as I am very frustrated and obviously have paid for something I cannot use.Thanks in anticipation. Pauline Frederick

(More customer reviews)I'm having to revise my initial review as I received two of these kits and both let me down. The first one stopped working after 30mins, so I ordered a replacement. The second unit was DOA. The mic and headset are salvageable, but the wireless components (transmitter and receiver) are not. What a waste of money.

If you are lucky enough to get a working unit it will work out of the box, but having had 2 units and 100% failure rate I'm staying away.

The kit comes in it's own carry case, so it's very portable. It's made in China, the workmanship reflects that. It's not shoddy, ( though the receiver jack is sitting at a slightly off-center angle! ) but it won't stand up to "excessive wear and tear".

Two things worth mentioning:
The lapel clip does not swivel and removing the wire to turn the clip around could damage the wire as it's in quite tight.

The headset is for left ear only as the mic only moves in one direction. (I prefer the ear pad sitting on my right ear, but I can live with it on my left!)

(More customer reviews)If you are in the market for a wireless microphone setup for your video camera and like me, you don't want to spend top dollar. You may like the budget friendly Audio Technica Pro 88W/T setup. Listen in to the sound quality and judge for yourself.

Comes with connectors that are compatible with most major cameras.9v battery for the transmitter and receiver.I found no issues getting it to work with my Canon ZR-70.For practical purposes, the sound quality was as good as anything I've seen produced on the web where I know the audio equipment being used is of much higher caliber.This device seemed to hold its own and do a very good job providing close, crisp audio in a situation where it would be nice to roam free.

The distance was not tested.I did not go 300 yards out to see how far it would go.Most videos I've done are in close proximity to the camera but would be detrimental without some kind of on-person audio setup.Having a wireless option makes this possible and enhances the video without providing so many features that is otherwise overkill for the task at hand.

I'm positive on this review as I found the setup easy and the audio quality to be very good without any noticeablestatic or interference.

Olympus ME-51S Stereo Microphone Review

(More customer reviews)We bought this to use with our WS-300M to record a class. We thought the stereo would result in a better quality recording. In the end, we set the recorder to MONO (HQ) because the speaker moves his head and the sound travels from one channel to the other! Good quality but distracting. Save your money and buy the mono mic. The quality is excellent in either setting.
Buy the way, in case you miss it, this mic does come with a cable to connect it to the recorder.

NONETHELESS: The value is unbeatable. I used the mic extensively with Griffin's iTalk & my iPodto record motivational lectures, and the sound quality was significantly improved vs. not having used a mic with the iTalk. That said, this comes with a high recommendation, if you can deal with having to buy a battery once every couple of years. Sony definitely lives up to its reputation with this product.
