I couldn't have been more pleased with a product.My daughters love them and use them atleast every other day. I wanted to buy them a micrphone and stand that would hold up and I am so glad I saw these. Other kid microphones with stands would cost 39.95 each and up. This was an unbelievable buy and the sound quality is great, very sturdy. Their not kiddie looking either (they look like a professional micrphone and stand) so they can be used for a very long time to come. And no problems at all with the shipping... they were packaged very well and shipped in perfect timing. I'd give this company 10 stars if I could. AWESOME PRODUCT FOR KIDS AND US ADULTS!!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)All right, first of all, Don't let the price fool you.This is an excellent microphone for only 8 dollars.I wouldn't have thought it could be this good, but reading elsewhere I found some reviews so I figred I would try it.It works GREAT!An earlier post complained about a power source or something....Let me make something clear.

This is a microphone.You plug it into an amplifier, a mixer, computer, whatever you want... Microphones don't have a built in invisible speaker, you need to send the signal to something.It uses the STANDARD XLR3 hookup.I got a cheap XLR to 3.5mm adapter and I'm running it on my computer.

Remember, don't rate a product you don't understand at all!

(More customer reviews)Having done pro sound for years, I decided to try this comparatively, inexpensive product. When I FINALLY got it (that's another story), I put it together & it has been working fairly well. The things that they don't state openly in the web ads is that each belt pack is a fixed channel. If u want 2 people using the same channel, then u must get 2 of the same channel or 2 belt packs & 1 transmitter on the same channel. On the other hand, if u want 2 different mixes, u need 2 different systems - 1 transmitter/belt pack on 1 channel & the other system/belt pack, on another. That is common knowledge in the field, however, they make no clear mention of that in the short adds & are somewhat unclear when they say "factory programmable". It means u MUST, in advance, specifically ask for 2 separate systems on 2 separate channels as far away from each other in the frequency spectrum that they provide. U get all of this specific info when u get the device & open it. The locked channel also limits your possibilities if u get interference. If u get interference, u just have to deal with it - there's no further choice of channels.

Another thing not spelled out & quite interesting to discover is the built in limiter (though potentially beneficial for your hearing in the long run). If u add too many instruments into the mix being sent to u thru the transmitter system, the transmitter will automatically reduce what seems to be 1 or 2 instruments & keeps the rest of the instruments the same level. The cut will last for a couple seconds after the loudest levels have dropped. My guitarist has been struggling with the drums cutting out for seconds at a time, only at particular parts in any given song & is trying to get used to it - trying to stay on beat w/o hearing drums for seconds at a time. The system takes much trial & effort to get it tweaked out, and CAN be, but, just another thing not spelled out in advance.

Finally, the headphones they provide are not worth much of anything & it is a mono unit. So, to replace the headphones, u either need to seek out worthy, mono headphones, modify the cable on your stereo headphones, or use your stereo headphones with the cable just slightly pulled out (for the proper contacts to touch in the inside of the headphone jack) to hear in both headphone buds. All in all, not bad - workable - for the buck.

(More customer reviews)This microphone is used in every service we have in our sanctuary.The sound is unbelievably clear and distinct.It is not necessary to hold the mic "in your mouth" to hear your music or spoken words. This mic is well worth the amount spent for the services it provides. The two (2) AA batteries seem to last longer and are cheaper than the 9V we used in our old mic. Also, seems trivial but it is well balanced and just feels good when holding it in your hand. This opinion has been written several weeks after purchase and using this mic.

I give it 4 stars for the value.

Sure, you can do at least somewhat better if you
move up to the $175+ level, or higher.

But short of that, placed & leveled properly, this baby will more than hold its own.

I'm using the old early-1970s-pattern 4-drum micing right now, and it sounds great:
SM57 on snare;Nady DM-90 inside kick; 2 AKG C1000Bs for overheads (both thru preamps).

We live in an era where engineers have been known to put 3 mics on a snare drum.

Sure, You can keep adding mics to a setup, but it's surprising how good and crisp
and vivid (with good stereo imaging) this 4-drum configuration sounds & records, just as is.

Add a touch of stereo "close-up"/small room reverb
on the overheads, and a bigger, more "majestic" reverb on the snare, and I'm off and running
for classic rock, fusion, power-pop, etc.

And this specialist mic always works well and "gets the job done"
as part of my microphone "team".
