(More customer reviews)I needed 4 more channels of wireless for a kids production at church and really didn't have any money left in the budget.There aren't that many rental houses around our area so I figured for the price I would give the HSU8800H a try.The item arrived well packaged and as described in the case from the manufacturer.I am used to using Shure UHF-R, ULX, SLX or Audio Technica 3000 series for most of my wireless applications so I wasn't expecting much from a microphone so cheaply priced.The case construction is average but not bad.On the microphones themselves there are only three buttons: power, frequency up and frequency down.The problem with this is that if the singer isn't careful they can accidentally change the frequency if they clutch the mic too hard on that button.I've warned all of our people about this and it has only been an issue during one rehearsal.The receiving unit is equally as simple, with an LED to indicate it is sensing the transmitter and frequency control buttons.There are also volume knobs but these only affect the quarter inch combined output.We are using the individual XLR outs so these do nothing.As far as range they are fine for our application.We have a small theater room in the kids building that is probably 50ft from the stage to the booth.We haven't had any trouble with pops or dropouts.We run approximately 10 channels of wireless during these productions but all with plenty of room in the spectrum.The sound quality is ok.I have found a great deal of variance from mic to mic and we used a bunch of eq in the mid and low end to "un-muddy" them up a bit.They do have some self-noise in the form of very high end hiss but not too noticeable when other things are going on.For what I paid for them I am very happy with my purchase.The singers are happy with them and for what we are doing (singalong with kids) they perform adequately.Not sure how well they will hold up but so far so good.As a friend of mine once said "They won't impress your girlfriend, but they won't kill your grandma either".
